Consumer Energy Education Foundation Wins as Best Outreach Program in the 2020 World Oil Awards

Houston, TX – Consumer Energy Education Foundation (CEEF) was honored with a 2020 World Oil Award for its “Best Outreach Program” during their annual awards ceremony held on October 15, 2020 at an online awards ceremony. The World Oil Awards recognizes the energy industry’s leading innovators and developments in technology that have made lasting impacts and drive the upstream industry forward.

For its “Best Outreach Program” from World Oil, CEEF was recognized for its annual Energy Day Festival, which is a free family festival, held annually in Houston, Texas and Denver, Colorado, with interactive exhibits for students, teachers and their families to learn about the various forms of energy and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics that are used in energy and STEM careers.

“The Consumer Energy Education Foundation is honored to be recognized as the best outreach program by the 2020 World Oil Awards,” CEEF Founding Board Member David Holt said. “Our mission for the past 10 years has been to engage in programs and activities that motivate students to pursue STEM education and improve the understanding of career opportunities in STEM fields and energy industries.”

While the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed what would have been the 10th anniversary of the Energy Day Festival, it has not stopped us from continuing our mission. We are proud of the growth the Energy Day Festival has seen each year and we are committed to using this moment in history as an opportunity to adapt more of our programs to a virtual setting and reach even more students and teachers in the future.”

Energy Day is a free family festival consisting of nearly 70 interactive demonstrations and exhibits that teach students and their families about the various forms of energy and science, technology, engineering and mathematics that go into go into energy and STEM careers. The festival also focuses on efficiency and conservation while providing opportunities for students to interact with energy and STEM experts to help spark an interest in these careers.
