COVID-19 Update

When the calendar reached January 1, 2020, the staff at Consumer Energy Education Foundation was ready to hit the ground running on hosting the Energy Day Festival – but we all know how 2020 turned out.

As states continue to impose further lockdowns, educators, families, and experts weigh how to move forward this fall school year. Despite the impending start date, school districts here and across the country have no more certainty than they did mid-summer. Like others, CEEF and our partners have had to weigh the risks while also working to support and implement our sponsors’ safety measures.

With safety being our number one priority, the CEEF staff and its Board of Directors have sadly made the difficult decision to delay our Annual Energy Day Festivals in Houston and in Denver. We will advise everyone as soon as we settle on a new date in 2021 and an updated, comprehensive program.

STEM education remains at the heart of CEEFs mission, and we will continue to connect with our audiences in new, innovative, and safe ways throughout the remainder of 2020. Though we will not be hosting the Energy Day Festival in either Denver or Houston this year, we will be working on challenging our stakeholder networks to advance CEEF’s mission. We hope to use this time to work closely with many of you to improve upon the Energy Day experience and develop creative programming that will grow CEEF and address issues our children are facing now, and likely into the future.

While we continue to make these STEM-ulating changes, we look forward to working with each of you to expand our mission.

We are incredibly grateful for all of our amazing community partners who continue to support CEEF and all the students across so many school districts that we have affected over the last ten years.

Thank you for your steadfast support of our educators, our students, and their families. We look forward to implementing some exciting plans for 2021, fully embracing Energy Day Festival, and implementing programs that will have an even more significant impact over the next ten years.

In hopes of a better and healthier year,

The CEEF and Energy Day Teams
