STEM Student Scott Cripps

Scott Cripps’ team, the Pearbots Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies, won first place overall in the 2017 All-Earth Ecobot Challenge.

Scott attends Rogers Middle School in Pearland ISD.  His favorite class is science.  Most recently, he received recognition for the A Honor Roll, Master of the Mile, and was DUKE TIP recognized.  He rounds out academics with percussion in the school band.

Outside of school, Scott is working on his third degree black belt at Jungdo Taekwondo.  He also enjoys playing the drums, especially cover music from bands like Foo Fighters under the instruction of Zach at Mr. G’s.  Scott is a member of Boy Scout Troop 404, where he met Pete Comeaux, who introduced him to the Ecobot Challenge.  Scott joined Code Ninjas of Pearland at the end of summer, and he is currently a yellow belt.

Apart from structured activities, Scott spends a lot of time with his family (parents, sister, brother, grandparents and extended family), especially his dad.  Scott said that spending time with his dad is like being in Scouts full time; he learns things like how to use the generators at the family bay house. While Legos were his first love, he has used that experience and built upon it, and he now enjoys computers.
